A real cider pub of immense character. A cider festival is held every November and there are many other special events throughout the year. Bar manager Kevin has Weston's Organic vintage, Weston's Perry, Stowford Press and Old Rosie , Heck's Blakeney Red Perry, single variety ciders including their excellent Port Wine of Glastonbury. From Dorset there is medium dry draught Cider by Rosie and Charlie the landlord's own cider. This is produced in his new ciderhouse in the pub garden. This year there are 3 ciders made by Charlie on sale.
The Square is moving more and more towards real full juice ciders and has just been awarded Wessex Pub of the year. A visit is an absolute must if you are in the area. It is a Mecca for cider lovers.

A relaxed weekend of folk music and cider at England's best pub, on the Dorset coast. We’re back this coming summer on june 13 and 14 at the best pub in the world - the square and compass in the village of worth matravers. The line-up is as follows : DJs : Gaz Mayall (Gaz’s Rockin Blues), Pete Lawrence, Boss, Bessos, Alucidnation, Bill &Coo, AJ & Simon Emmerson. Live : Nancy Wallace, Dollboy, Eva Abraham The event is free.
