Jump to: navigation, search

A list of cider or perry producers organised by alphabetical county and country. It's always best to phone ahead before visiting small cider makers as to most of them cider is a sideline, and it's always worth checking whether you should or may bring your own cider storage containers.

Comments, additions and further details are most welcome. The biggest concentration of producers are to be found in the traditional cidermaking counties of Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire who have their own pages now, Wales also has it's own cider and perry producers' page and all others are below.

Local Burton & South Derbyshire Camra members Dickie & Jacky Allen have been producing cider for about five years from a small unit in the grounds of their home in the village of Scropton. Using mainly local apples collected from Derbyshire orchards and gardens they produce about 250 gallons per year. Fermentation is mainly natural using the sugars and yeast present in the fruit and only if a customer wants a slightly less dry cider is pure sugar added as a sweetener. In the pressing season they welcome cider fans to join them for hands on pressing days when local bread & cheese, and of course mugs of cider, are served to helpers. You are also welcome to bring along your own apples for pressing into your own unique cider, subject to time available. Please ring them for details. They are now proud to confirm that Camra have purchased five tubs of Scropton Cider for the 2009 Great British Beer & Cider Festival at Earls Court commencing 4th August.
