Henney's Cider Co.
Henney's is a cider producer based in Herefordshire, England.
Mike Henney started making cider as a hobby in 1996. At that time, it was 5 gallons fermented in his airing cupboard, but the hobby got a bit out of hand and in 2008 production has reached over 200,000 gallons! (no longer in the airing cupboard). The business is still run by Mike in close collaboration with some key service providers. These include Wyre Croft Farm at Bishops Frome who, as well as supplying apples, also mill and press all the fruit and provide storage for the juice. Other key services of packing and warehousing are provided by Branded Drinks Bottling in The Forest of Dean. Mike’s objective is to make the best cider possible and provide customers with a great service. He believes this is best achieved by keeping every process as simple as possible.
Henny's bottled cider is available Nationally in Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose, Threshers and Wine Rack as well as some Booths and Spar stores regionally.
Frome Valley Dry
The cider is fermented from a blend of 100% fresh pressed juice from carefully selected, genuine Cider Apples varieties. Unlike some cider makers, we do not use concentrated juice or supplementary fermentation sugars and no artificial flavourings or sweeteners are added. The result is a fruity, crisp, refreshing drink enjoyable on its own or with food. Allergen advice: contains sulphites.
Frome Valley Medium
Pleasant bittersweet apple flavour, well-balanced sweetness and acidity, not too astringent and without excessive bitter aftertaste associated with some traditional ciders.
Frome Valley Apple Sweet
A blend of Frome Valley Dry Cider with concentrated apple juice which gives added sweetness and a fruitier flavour. Winner of the 2006 Tesco Brewing Awards Best Cider.
