Lovely garden, very low beams, local real ales including the Digfield brewery in the village. Draught Aspalls Suffolk Cider, plus a rotating guest cider from Westons on handpump (currently Westons Country Perry - Aug 2008).

Buckby

Lovely village pub with a reputation for good food, and a good range of real ales from smaller breweries. Real cider in the summer only.

Corby

Shiny new Wetherspoon with draught Westons Old Rosie and Organic Vintage. Note, this pub is located on the outskirts of Corby at the new Rockingham Park Leisure scheme, not in the town centre.

Another Northants licensee with a strong commitment to local beers, and also a local cider. The guest cider is usually from Westons range, but Roadkill for Eve Dry Cider (6.5%) features when available.

Gretton

Thriving village local with a good range of (mostly Greene King) real ales. Westons Old Rosie from a bag-in-box in the Summer. Patio garden to the rear.

The Talbot Inn is a friendly village pub at the heart of the village with a main bar and a dining room / lounge bar. There is a large beer garden to the rear with childrens play equipment and a decked patio with awning. Local real ales and cider are always available including Westons Old Rosie. Food is served all day every day from 12.00 until 1/2 hour before close. Opening times are Sun-Thurs 12.00-11.00, Fri & Sat 12.00 - 00.00. Takeaway meals are also available. The main bar has a Northamptonshire skittle table, darts, pool and large screen projection TV - Wii system. Special dates for this year are The 8th Welland Valley Beer Festival 11th - 13th June 160+ different real ales and ciders at venues up and down the Welland Vallley phone for more details. Westons Cider Ice is available during the summer, we have Whinn Hill cider on draght at present. 8 real ciders & perries will be available at The WVBF.

Thatched village local, tastefully refurbished, and with a good reputation for food in the new Shallots Restaurant. Beers always include a local choice and the Hatton is the local tap for the Great Oakley Brewery. Real cider is rarely available now.

Guilsborough

The Ward Arms has a "Real Cider" pump that constantly changes,(Gwynt y Ddraig medium Nov.2009), matching the 8 real ale pumps. Now home of "Nobby's" brewery. Reputedly had Roadkill for Eve Dry Cider (Local Kettering Cider)(see Geddington)

Kettering

Fairly typical Wetherspoon in the heart of the town. Westons Old Rosie in the chiller cabinet, plus some bottled including Koppaberg and Magners.

Good estate pub selling Westons Old Rosie. A little way out from the centre, but handy for Wickstead Park. A beer festival is held in August.

Renowned live music venue (mostly rock/alternative), Potbelly Brewery tap, and has recently introduced Westons Herefordshire Country Perry on handpump.

A popular ale house, in a pleasant village on the edge of Northampton. The guest cider/perry is from a wide range supplied by Northampton wholesaler AleExpress.

Middleton

Village local with a strong commitment to local ales and cider. Up to four real ales, including regulars from the nearby Great Oakley Brewery, Potbelly, Nobbys etc. The draught Rockingham Forest Cider is made in the village, and is available throughout the Summer. Occasional guest ciders through the Winter (Winkleigh Sam's Medium 27/12/08, Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry 26/01/09). Participates in the Welland Valley Beer Festival in June.

Traditional village local which serves a wide range of real ales and Westons Old Rosie. Listed in the current GBG. Food not available at all sessions - phone to check. Don't confuse with the Fitzgerald Arms just up the road. Only Stowford Press on tap May 2009.

Northampton's premier ale house on the Station/Saints RFC side of the town. See website for more details. Guest cider on handpump, often Thatchers Cheddar Valley.

Smaller than average Wetherspoon, though no less lacking in character! A couple of Westons boxes in the chiller cabinet.

Situated just off the the main pedestrian shopping street. Wide range of real ales, live music. An occasional real cider, usually Thatchers Cheddar Valley.

Stoke Bruerne

Famous canalside inn run by the same family since 1877. Thatchers Heritage on draught.

Tiffield

A Thatchers draught cider on handpump, plus some bottled Thatchers.

Welford

  • Wharf Inn, Welford Wharf, Welford, Northamptonshire, NN6 6JQ. Tel: (01858) 575075. (actually just on the Leicestershire side of the border!)

Canalside pub, and now the only pub in the village. Popular with boating folk, locals, walkers, cyclists and folk passing on the A5199 (formerly the A50). Westons Old Rosie available from the box. Pub has a “Midsummer Madness” weekend in June, with 4 ciders and 2 perries in 2007, as well as 24 ales. Food also available – see website.

Wellingborough

Currently selling Westons Old Rosie (normally on handpump) and Vintage (in a polypin in the fridge). Plus 4 or 5 decent bottled ciders. A typical Wetherspoon pub.

Woodnewton
